๐ LATEST UPDATE - June 12, 2025
San Jose is beginning to place homeless shelters within 150 feet of Preschools, Senior Assisted Living, and residential neighborhoods across the city. Their first test site is the Bristol Hotel, located at 3341 S Bascom Ave. This is the first wave of similarly located shelters that will be coming to our neighborhoods where our seniors and children reside.
WHAT CAN YOU DO: A City Council meeting will be held at City Hall on Tuesday, June 17 at 11:00am. The City Council will be discussing the planned use of this site (and others). It is critical we attend this meeting to make our voice heard.

โ ๏ธ RISKS OF THIS LOCATION
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Family & Child Safety:
The unprecedented placement of the homeless shelter so close to a preschool, senior assisted living facility, and family neighborhood puts vulnerable populations at risk.
๐ Safety & Security Risks:
It creates increased potential for crime, drug use, and public disturbances without proper supervision protocols.
โ๏ธ Jurisdiction Confusion:
San Jose/Campbell border creates legal chaos. Who has authority and responsibility when shelter-related incidents affect the surrounding community?
